Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez (born Rosa Maria Perez on the 6th of September 1964) is an American actress choreographer, dancer and activist. Her breakthrough role as Tina in Do the Right Thing (1989) was followed by White Men Can't jump (1992). Perez's performance as Tina in Fearless (1993) has earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Perez's main roles in films include It Could Happen to You (1994) as well as The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007) as well as Birds of Prey (2018). She also received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990-1994), and another Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her role as The Flight Attendant. In addition, she has been featured in Broadway plays, such as The Ritz and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. During the 18th season, she also co-hosted on ABC's talk program The View. She attended Grover Cleveland High School, located in the Ridgewood neighborhood in Queens. In 1999, her mother was in the middle class of Woodside Houses when she died due to AIDS-related issues.
